EIN@OBESITY WEEK – Partnering with PACO

Late last year, EIN (EPODE International Network) attended Obesity Week, held in Boston, United States. This was a week of fruitful meetings and exchanges with key leaders in the field of obesity prevention and treatment.

A key point during the week was the signing of the EIN and PACO (Pan-American Conference on Obesity) Partnership Agreement. This agreement consolidated and made official the longstanding partnership between these like-minded organisations.

Dr. Jean-Michel Borys (Secretary General, EPODE International Network), Dr. Armando Barriguete (President of EPODE International Network), Dr. Richard Visser (Minister of Health & Sport, Aruba), and Minister Noble (Minister of Health, Hidalgo) were present to sign the PACO-EIN Partnership Agreement.

This collaboration is a wonderful opportunity for EIN to:

  • Associate with the largest obesity prevention platforms in The Americas, allowing access to community-based, obesity prevention efforts in the region, supporting them as they scale up their approaches to obesity prevention.
  • Partner with other community-based initiatives in Latin America.
  • Participate in the 2015 Pan American Congress on Obesity IV, 23rd – 25th April in Mexico.

Participate in the Global Obesity Forum Latin America.

These leaders in obesity prevention will meet again at the 2015 Pan American Congress on Obesity IV, 23rd – 25th April to be held for the first time outside of Aruba in the state of Hidalgo, in Mexico. This will be the opportunity for experts, community based initiatives as well as representatives from both the public and the private sector to come together and share their latest experiences and best practices, allowing them to overcome together the existing challenges to obesity prevention.paco press release
